Dear Office of Admissions:

I believe that I am an outstanding candidate for admission to your M.B.A program because of the unique perspective that I bring to the learning environment. As a student seeking admission directly following my undergraduate career, I believe that my mind is free from the pessimism and negativity that hardened professionals often possess.

My outstanding academic record, combined with my extra-curricular responsibilities and leadership positions proves that I am capable of excelling in the management field. I believe that these positions serve as an acceptable substitution for my lack of pretentious job titles.

Your department’s website informs visitors that applicants to the M.B.A program are evaluated on three essential criterion: academic excellence, professional promise, and personal characteristics. I believe that internship with the Purdue Sports Information Department, in which I executed all the duties of a full-time staff member, qualifies as professional promise. In fact, I would maintain that my responsibilities are equal to, if not greater than the two or three year experienced professional who has worked at an entry-level position.

I look forward to working with the admissions committee throughout the application process. I am happy to answer any questions that may arise both in writing and in person. Thank you for your time in advance.

Sincerely,

R.J. Wachs
